The two Hastings jumpers, Bullivorth and Maku, liavo been doing good work in view of their Wauganui engagements Divo will ride Bullwortl, if the Steeplechase, and J. O'Connell will have the mount on Maku i n tlic Ccnturv Hurdles Bullworth, it should bo remembered, won a steeplechase in Svdney last month, and will be more forward than several of the candidates raclm at Uangamii. Maku, it is considered, will be well suited by tho distance of the Century Hurdle Race as lie has given tho impression that h'e is a stayer.

A well-attended and representative meeting of gentlemen interested in the formation of a trotting club in Wellington was held last evening. Colonel Humo occupied the chair. It was re solyed t that a trotting club bo formed to be known as the Wellington Trotting Club, and that the races be held on the Miramar Recourse. Colonel Hume and Mr. J. H. Pollock (with Mr J Dykes as interim seerotarv) were elcct-ed a committee to make the necessary preliminary arrangements, a report to be submitted to members at a meeting to bo held next week.
