Dr. Hackett, LL.D., M.L.C., chairman of the Royal Commission set up to report on tho question of tho establishment- of a university for Western Australia, has submitted tho committee's report, which states that if a university is established, its chief solicitude must be for the primary arts of production on which the life of the State depends. Instead of putting classics in the chief rank, it must aim at teaching living languages and pure science.
