VARAWA CASE.
CLAIM OF £20,000 FOR FALSE IMPRISONMENT. ■y Telegraph—Press Association—OoDyriehl Meibourne, May 18. Evidenco given in the Varawa case showed that the steamer Peregrine (which the plaintiff Varawa negotiated to purchase) was wanted for blockaderunning at Port Arthur during tho Husso-Japaneso War. The Secretary to the Federal Attor-ney-General stated that ho understood the owners of the steamer had agreed to enter into a bond not to sell tho vessel without Government permission.
