The Johannesburg correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" reports that all the Premiers ill South Africa—G-cneral Botha (Transvaal), Mr. Fischer (Orange lliver Colony), Mr. P. li. Moor (Natal), and Mr. Merriman (Cape Colony)—are going to Capo Town to meet the Gov-ernor-General, Lord Gladstone, on Tuesday. The correspondent adds: "South Africa, with the exception of Orange River Colony, and Western Cape Colony, favours General Botha, who, if asked by the Governor-General to form a Ministry, will probably form a moderate Ministry instead of a coalition one. Generals Botha and Smuts (the Colonial Secretary of the Transvaal) will not serve under a Ministry headed by Mr. Merriman. "Moderate opinion in the Transvaal ; favours a Cabinet headed by General j Botha, including the Progressive leaders, I Dr. Jameson (Cape Colony), and Sir (Percy Fitzpatrick (Transvaal), also Mr. |J. W. Jagger (President of the South j African Chambers of Commerce), and ! Mr. T. W. Smartt, formerly Commis- | sioner of Works, Cape Colony."
