LEASING CITIZENS CHARGED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Greymouth, May' 15. The scqnel to tho "social" of welcoraa to Mr Massey at Greymouth on April 30, occurred to-day in the Magistrate's Court when tho proprietor of the Post Office Hotel was charged with three breaches of the Licensing Act, viz., keeping a room open as a public resort, exposing liquor for sale, and allowing liqnor to be consumed after licensing hours. Twenty-two out of fifty present at the "social," .including three barristers, Mr. Guinness, Speaker of the Houjo of Representatives, eight Justices of the Peace, and ten leading citizens were also charged with being on licensed premises after hours. Ths first charge, regarding a common resort, was dismissed on technical grounds, and the other charges were adjourned till th« afternoon.
