Writing to "The Friend" newspaper, published at Bloemfontein, Mr. Wolffesrlich stated that a South African National party is being formed, under the leadership of General Botha, Premier of the Transvaal. ; London, May 1. Speaking at the Royal Academy banquet, the Prince of Wales emphasised the pleasuro with which he was looking forward to his. visit to South-Africa, to open the first Union Parliament. [When the Prince of Wales sets out for South Africa to open the first Union Parliament (says an English paper) it is appropriate that the vessel in which he makes his hietoric voyage should bo •the Balmoral Castle, seeing that the spot after which she has been named ie one that has such close associations with the life of our Eoyal Family. This vessel, which, with her sister the Edinburgh Castle, , will be the largest and most powerful in the fleet of , the Union-Castle Line ( will afford a fitting temporary home "for-His Eoyal Highness, for nothing that money or skill can, do has been spared in the building and furnishing of the ship.]. '
