CARTERTON. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lmdop, of this town, ivill hear with deep 1-ogret of the death of their granddaughter, Noelino Lindop, which' occurred ill tlio Wellington Hospital on Thursday morning. Deceased was a bright active little girl of eleven summers, and had been ailing for several weeks with tui internal complaint, and a week or so ago entered tho WellingHospital for treatment. Sho was a general, favourite, and her demiso has como as a shook to lier friends. The interment took placc on Friday. Tho casket boro a floral tribute of sympathy from St. Mark's Sunday School, of which deceased Was a scholar. A competition for a trophy presented by Mr. W. C. Buchanan, M.P., was held under the auspices of tho Carterton Gun Club on Thursday afternoon. Thero was a good muster of competitors, four of whom tied for first placo in a tWenty-ono bird . match. In tho filial Mr. Hi Hqdge secured tho trophy, and Mr. R. Ivoid took socorul priae. Tho Mnstcrton Homing Pigeon Club havo offered a special prize of half a guinea to the South Wnirarapa Poultry, Pigeon, and Cage Bird Association, which is to be allotted tho best working homer in tho show.
