YACHTING.
The final in the aggregate for tha Wilford Cup and blue ribbon was sailed off on Saturday last by the Heretaimga Boating Club, eight boats competing. This race created a considerable amount of interest, as ; several. boats were in close running for the aggregate. The trophy for the' race itself was Mr. C. . W. Buins's trophy. The cup and ribbon was annexed by the Runa, winch, ran into third place, gaining a point, which gave her 10 to her credit for the season; the Clara lying next with 7. Tho next race is for tho.Hartley Cop,' and a -launch race wiir complete the' season. The club will hold its annuals "social" on May 18. The handicapping and finish were as follow: —Moana,'_at 3.1 p.m., finishing time 4hr. Smin. SOsec.; Clara,, 3.3 p.m., finishing time 3hr. 58minu. 28sec.; Gil' Bias, 3.4 p.m-, finishing time 4hr. 7min. 37_sec.; Watwetu, 3.5 p.m., did not finish; Hnia, 3.5 p.m., finishing time 3hr. 57min. ; oOsec.; Bronzewing, 3.8 p.m., finishing . time. 4hr. 4min. 20sec-; Runa, 3.10 p.m.. finishing time, 4hr. 30min. 20sec.; and * Esray, 3.15 p.m., finishing time 4hr. ISmin. 53sec. , 1 The Huia crossed the line first-, with' Clara second, and Rnna third.
