— 4 — '—— •'" ■ A most enjoyable entertainment was given by Mrs. Leighton, at the Missions to Seamen Institute-on' Thursday evening before a crowded audienco. Mr. James Moore .occupied the chair. The following contributed items to the-pro-gramme :—Mesdames Leighton, Fisher, Jolliffo, Misses Hart, Watkins,-and Mr. Wilson. Miss Humphrya played the accompaniments. Soveral popular choruses were sung, by the audionce, Miss Humphreys accompanying on the piano. During, a, short interval, the missioner delivered an earnest address on tho temperance question, the address resulting in nine men.taking the plodgo. At tho conclusion of the meeting, Mr. F. M. B. Fisher, M.P., proposed a vote of thanks to tho performers, this being . carried by 'acclamation. Mr. Wilson ■ briefly responded.
