Following upon the conference of tho Church of England Men's Society, tho members, to the number of about 100, took the Holy Communion yesterday morning at St. Peter's Church. Tho Eev.H. S. WooUcombe was the celebrant. The Wellington Diocesan branch afterwards entertained the visitors at breakfast at Godbor's. Tho llovs. C. Haggitty (Ghristchurch) and Flavoll (Auckland) and Mr. H. W. Monaghan (Wellington) spoke of the holpfnlness of Mr. WooDcombo's mission and the good that would result from it. A greenstone paper-knife, with carved handle and gold inscription plate, was presented to Mr. Woollcombe, i v 'ho feelingly oxprossed his thanks. Mr; Woollcombe left'for Sydney by yesterday's boat and will go on to Africa. Messrs. Samuel Brown, Ltd., agents for the Wcstport-Stocktoii Coal Co., have been advised that their tender for 25 000 tons of coal has been accepted by' tho Railway Department for delivery ai various ports is How Ecitliffld.
