Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. ; (Blenheim branch) report holding their fortnightly stock sale. at the Co-operative Yards this week, as had a good yarding of about 2000 sheep and lambs of all classes, nine bullocks, and one gelding. Attendance of buyers was but average,-and bidding was very slow. Limited, report on their Levin sale this week as follow:—A full yarding of sheep and cattle camo forward, and, with two exceptions, the whole yardiug changed hands well in favour of vendors. Young sheep and cattlo were keenly competed for. rho demand for this class of stock being exceptionally good. Dalgoty and Company, limited, report having hold their usual stock sale at Otane, Hawko's Bay, on April,29. when they offered' a fair yarding of sheep and cattle to a, comparatively good attendance of buyers. Prices compared very favourably with last sale's quotations, and Jon market prices for good-conditioned cattle were well maintained. At Stratford,, on Wednesday, I held a special sale of pedigree Jerseys, on account of Messrs. A. Buobahan, W. H. Booth, Valentine and Harrison, and- others. There was a large attendance, and keen interest was shown, the competition and.prices realised being, on tho whole, quite up to expectations, and gave ample evidence that the' Jersey is as-popular ar. ever. Prices were as fol-luw:-0n account of Mr. W. H. Booth, Yearling bnllß. from UJ to 14 guineas; 1 and 15-month old do., 7 guineas; 2-year heifers' in calf. 165 to 20i guineas.
