Daring a debate in the Reichstag, Herr Enzberger proposed to raise £4,000,000 for the suppression of risings in South-west Africa by taxing persons and compimips in the colony worth more than £ir,.wO. Herr Dernburg, Secretary of State for the Colonies, characterised tho Bill as 'sheer confiscation, and said it would kill what poor little interest was taken in the oolonies. The debato was adjourned.
