MANAWATU: CLUB. A general meoting of. members of the Manawatu was held.thig week, when there was "a fair attendance of members. Mr. J." Sweeney occupied the chair. ._■ .. '■' \; The -master", Mr- J. Sweeney, stated that owing to absence from the district hb was compelled ,yery reluctantly to resign the position. The resignation was accepted with great' regret, the secretary, Mr. 'J. Davidson, expressing tho opinion that it was mainly duo to Mr. Sweeney's efforts' that the club had been\ established on such a sound basis, and he could , .bear testimony to tho yeoman'york which' Mr. Sweeney had done fov the club. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Sweeney fgrhis services as master and otherwise. In reply, Mr. Sweeney said that the possibilities of the club' wore groat, as in a district such as Mnnawatu there was no reason why it could not bo made tho host Hunt. Club in the Dominion. The club was fortunate also in possessing such' a secretary as Mr. Davidson.

Mγ.- G. Shannon: was ejected to fill tho vacancy caused by the resignation of ;Mr. Sweeney as master. Tho secretary reported that four brace of hounds, in tho best of condition, had been received from Auckland. The club was also in a very sound financial position, and tho season promised to l)o a successful one. . .
