MISSION PROPERTIES SUPPER. ~ (By; TeleEraph.— Preea Association.!; . • Auckland, April 21. .The island,mail brings additional particulars of the : damage doiiev by the recent hurricane in Fiji, the most , serious feature being the loss of eight lives, at .tho Rewa. Tie unfortunates were all natives. Enormoua damage was sustained by the , banana crops some 7000 acres of sugar cane has been levelled, while the houses were all moro or less damaged. It is estimated that the damage, done to the cane and banana crops' will amount , to over £80,000. In various districts where rubber ■ trees , have been planted,, the trees have been destroyed.- The Methodist Mission, at the Rowa sustained damage amounting to about £3000, and much damage was done to .the crops. At Navua the damage , to bananas is put down at £12,000,' while, at Mbau and other villagesin the neighbourhood, some 300 houses wore destroyed, and a woman was killed-by a house falling on her. In the Rewa. province 795 : houses "were blown down, and at Dieketi a woman was killed by a falling house.\.' • .- ■■• . ■ ..
