' ,;FEILDING DISCISSION. .. '.< The farmers of Feilding have been trying to arrive-.at an agreement as to.the best course in-agricultural education for the local Technical-School to provide. At -.»■/ meeting oh Monday Mr. Mayo, said he thought instruction .in drainage, -or the best time to sow'seeds, would be very useful. Mr. Tolloy favoured wheatgrowing, .and. the. best, method of harvesting. crops. ' Mr.. Morrison thought much would be learned if farmers who had piadc a speciality in any direction would give demonstrations.on: their own farms. Mr. Grabb also favpured ocular demon.gtratiens on the farms.- It would be/a great thing if some leading farmer, would place the whole or part of his land at the disposal of an instructor: Mr. Andrew asked'if it could be arranged for an . instructor/ to visit the farms and give instruction to. farmers individually. ■When the discussion had reached this stage, Mr. Guthrie'moved that a committee be appointed, to consider the, sug-~ gestions put forward, ,and formulate a defihito 'scheme for' submission to tho Education-Board. Speaking to -the motion, Mr. Pirani, who was in- the-chair, said he was of opinion that.'they were .starting at the wrong' .end. , Agriculr tu'ral classes', for -.adults; had .done.'..very ■poorly in. the'past, except. at Manaia-anil Jlarton. "Was it-not'.'better tot-take'the children 'in.-.ha'nd? ' After, further, dis-cussion'-Mr. Guthrie's motion was carried.
