He had- replied that no. extravagant claims were, being made, and the , matter was being ; reduced to a plain statement of the case to lay before the ; commissioner. It was also decided :,to sign the agreement relating to- the matter.: ... , % Pending tho raising of the .£27,500 loan, it was resolved, on the recommendation of the' Finance Committee, to borrow from the Union Bank the money required from time to time for the works for which the said special loan was authorised; the debentures authorised for issue in, respect of the special loan to be the security for the advances from the bank.- ... . .Accounts amounting to £475 6s. 3d. . were passed for payment.
