An open letter to Mr. Asquith, an. nouncing tho Women's I'rceilom League's decision to abstain from militant action until the Government has had a. fair opportunity of stating its intentions, was banned in'nt 10 Dovuing Street, by Mrs. Despard. The original intention bad been, to attempt, to hand' it to Mr. Asquith at the House of Commons, but the early' hour of rising prevenfel this course. The letter ends with a demand that a Government .-declaration shall be made at. once to the effect.'that women's suffrage, legislation shall be undertaken in the; opening session, otherwise a resumption, of "the' rebellion ,of women" is threat ened. .
