The steamer Kilburn, which has arrived from Grey's Harbour, was tho central figure of an exciting incident in tho Rod Sea oil her previous voyage from tho United Kingdom 1 to Japan. Sho struck a reef in tho lied Sea, near Farsaw Islands, whereupon 60 boats, with about 800 Bedouin pirates, surrounded her and opened fire, which tho crew returned,, When the steamer's . ammunition; was exhausted, the crew escaped in an Arab dhow, which stood by, and eventually brought, assistance. . Meanwhile tho pirates stripped the vessel and got safely away. Tho Kilburn was eventually towed to Porim.and was repaired.,
