Labour members of tho Houso of Commons ought-to voto on every occasion according to their convictions, leaving the question of convenience ■to others. : The election, he .added, showed a substantial majority against the House of Lords,- '.but 'if the Irish' Nationalists voted against the Budget, the . case . against the Lords would bo gone, because the country as a wholo would so interpret the rejecting of the Budget. Mr.. Asquith had allowed the contest; between the tjro Houses to lapse' into an agitation for Lords' reform, over'which election after ; election would '• possibly, bo; fought to the ' exclusion of other vital questions. .;-
