. /MINE MANAGER'S REPORTS. Wiiotahi.—The stopes on the fcotwall dropper, No. 6-level, have been in hand. The reef is about loin, in width, showing colours of gold. At No. 5 level, in the sixth stope, the Cure reef is about 9in. in width, and good dabs of gold are seen. Tho stopes on the leader, No. 4 level, are being continued as usual. Tho fifth stops has been carried ..west of the rise for a distance,of 3ifi. A sixth stope w-o-st from the rise is. now'/being started, and good colours of fjold are seen. As the'stopes on' the inaih reef-above this level are not payable, further sloping has.been stopped, and-we are now'putting up a rise from the back of tho stop?s to see if a better grade of quartz can be met with higher, up. : •'" Reliance.—The, drive west is on the hangingwall of the reef. The whole face' is in quartz, with no sign of .the/fcotwall. , There .is every indication of the reef improving as the drive advances. The manager hopes ere long to meet with good values.,- v Imperial.—The Empire reef averages 2ft. in width, and during, the week ,a few colours of gold v;ere seen; Bright, mineral veins are striking into the,reef. Waitangi Consolidated.—ln the western section the level, is in lS4f,t. Sin. A contract has been let to extend, the. Reach level, Tararu, which is now in. 60ft. . . Halcyon.—Tho main crosscut is."along 209 ft. Tho country has improved, greatly. What appears to be a small.' '.dropper crossed the face. It is heavily mineralised; Only a small portion of the'reef -has been broken. The stone shows much better, and:stronger colours of gold.'-The'-country, is getting a littlo milder* • Occidental'Consolidated.—When break; iug down on Saturday, nice, colours of gold- were seen, and,-as the leaders are making. in size, the manager considers the prospects,.most encouraging. Golden'Belt—The reef at No. 1 level is now Gft. wide and "highly mineralised. In the low;, level-south the. country is highlyiiriirieralised,' and getting better-as the drive advances. .'.," Old Hauraki.-At the.-400ft. level, the drive on the- new reef is along 74ft. from the rise. Tho country continues ■ favourable, although no gold.has beeii seen. The drive on tho Green Harp reef has been advanced, to 38ft. , The reef, is smaller, but the country continues favourable for gold. The'intermediate on, the new-reef is along -ilft. from the, rise.,' The, reef has been smaller, but'appears, to: be making' again.' Only > few pieces '.of .specimen' stone were secured. ' Work: was resumed in the rise, 201b. of specimens being .won. ' Gold is/showing in the back-of tho rise.- The reef averages from 2in: to Giu. in width. vl'heTeef, which was pinched in the drive, opened out to lOin. At. the 300 ft. .level-the new reef has been driven, upon' for ,41(t.. It is- still small, but the country is. not so hard, and more favourable for .gold. The Bunker's intermediate has been extended 23ft.,. 51b. of specimen; 'stone being : secured. The reef is from Sin. to lOin. wide, encased in favourable ; country: More stone should be secured from this drive from- time, to time: / There should be no. difficulty in.locating the new reef at the 220 ft. level, and work has been started with that object. At the ,400 ft. level preparations are being made to rise where the gold was first.secured. ,

Scotia—The intermediate level is now timbered right .up, to the face. The.lode averages 2ft.,' and'shows a little gold in the dish. The manager banked. 168oz. 9dwt; of molted gold, the result of 102J; tons of ore treated. , ',:.' Victoria.—The winze below No. 3 level, is down 50ft! The footw-all reef is making towards the'hangingwall, and is now a foot from 1 the hangingwall reef on the western end of tie winze. The. quartz is about 9in. wide, but up to date no values have been seen. The hangingwall reef Has boon broken down, showing a width of 6in., and good dabs of gold were seen. The two reefs should junction in a few more feet o£ sinking. Only one stop© has been manned in No. 1 level, and this is producing fair ore. Colours of.sold are seen freely, and about 81b. of stono wero selected . from ; the quartz broken during the week.
