The opening session of the twenty* seventh annual conference of tha Churches of Christ in Auckland prorace commenced on Thursday. evening; last at the Ponsoriby Road . Meetinghouse; : Auckland. The president, Mr. F. EvansJ delivered an address on "Con*tinuity of Purpose," dealing specially with, its application to individual and collective effort .to attain' to perfect, manhood. The Bible School statistics showed that during the past year an'increase from below 500 to nearly SOO had taken;. place. During the meeting promises amount- ..' ing to £102 were taken towards Home. Mission work. Mr. H. Grinstead .was. appointed editor 'of the Auckland "Christian," and. Mr. A. Creamer was. elected president for the incoming year. .' It was resolvod that special attention be given by the Temperance Committee, to the "lockor system" of distributing liquor."
