Dr: Sydney T. Champtaloup, who hai been appointed' lecturer in bacteriology to tho University • of : Otago, is an Aucklander by birth'. Ho has also a special university certificate", in 'bacteriology,! and diseases of tropical climates. Ho was assistant to' the Professor of Public Health at Edinburgh University. He is also pathologist and bacteriologist to the Chalmers Hospital and lecturer in practical pathology and bacteriology. Dr. Champtaloup has had hospital experience at Auckland, the Manchester Fever Hospital, and St. Mary's Lying-in Hospital, and tho Cardiff 'infirmary. Ho has been for two and a half years teaching in surgery, practical pathology, and bacteriology,' and was one.of the most successful "coaches" in Edinburgh. His publio health experience was gained under iSe medical officers of health in Edinburgh and Midlothian, and as assistant to the Professor of Public' Health at Edin burgh. .. !
