It had been announced that, from .Thursday until Tuesday, extra. express trains would run from Wellington, Auckland, and Wanganui, the one between'Wanganui and Wellington leaving herd at 11.40 a.m. It was also notified that, on these dates, the ordinary down.mail train would not take passengers from Wanganui and intermediate stations, except for stations on the Main Trunk line, and the ordinary up mail train would not take passengers

from Feilding and intermediate stations, except for stations on the Main Trunk line, and stations north of Aramohb. ;'■ Evidently the public. had not read the advertisements, and hence the trouble. An agitation is afoot to connect the settlement of Rapanuiwith Okehu Railway Station by road.
