A man named Bcthea, a member of a wealthy family, became crazed through drinking on board the Baltimore-Ohio express. Ho shot two guards with a revolver. Ho then locked himself in a smoking compartment and fired on the crowd who were attempting to dislodge him. The fire brigade flooded the compartment. Bethea .wounded 'several people before he .died, riddled with bullets.
