The boats were level to the Craven Steps., Cambridge had a slight lead from the Crabtree to Harrod's, then Oxford, with a long, steady stroke, gradually overhauled the Light Blues, and'shot under Hammersmith Bridge.; threes-quarters" of a length ahead.'.' Tho Dark Blues' continued to increase their lead, , despite Cambridge's plucky spurts. ... The official result was given as a three and a half lengths' win for Oxford.
