In Queensland (ho informed a Dominion reporter yesterday) there was a system of running motor trains in which he was particularly interested. He had already given instructions that four self-con-tained motor carriages should be built at the PotoiiQ. workshops. It had been necessary to send Home for tho engmes forfhem. Motor trains would probably first be tried on the suburban lines, but it was hie opinion that they would be found most useful in sparsely settled districts irhero it did not really pay- to run full train services. At anyrato that had been the experience at Homo where motor trains wore being used by several companies and found to competo vory successfully with tho ordinary tramways.
