Tho Union's executive has promised to co-operate with representative Unionist Free-traders. Lord • Beauchamp (the ' president) states that tho Union has received £10,000 in addition to tho £6000 collected by the "Daily Chronicle" for the purpose of an independent Free-trado campaign before the election. Sir Edward Grey (Foreign Secretary), addressing a Free-trade demonstration in London, declared that Tariff reform would make British politics not only profligate, but 'corrupt, and , would introduce the seeds of disunion and disruption of the Empire.
