MINING NEWS.

WELLINGTON SHAEEMAHKET. There wero only three sales of mining shares recorded . yesterday, and these were all of Waihi Gold Mining shares, the prices obtained being ,£9 Bs. 3d., .£9 7s. 6d., and .£3 Bs. Gd. These shares have depreciated during the past few days, and no one seems able to account for the fall. Some th'nk it is due to the near approach of the bank balance, holders selling to make their bank balances look satisfactory; but this theory will not stand in the face of the fact that London quotations, are buyers .£9 55., sellers £9 10s. The trouble is with the mine—probably there is a shrinkago in the ore revenue, or labour troubles may be anticipated. Whatever the cause, the fall is having a bad effect on the market. Old Hauraki shares are not quoted, for neither the "bulls" nor the "bears" wish to disclose how they stand. Talismans are weaker, with sellers at 11s. 9d. : ■■,■•■ QUOTATIONS. .'■ Buyers. Sellers.
