With respect to the refunding of examination fees, the following regulation was agreed to by the Victoria College Council on Wednesday night, on the recommendation of the Finance Committee:—"That in no case shall fees paid for the college annual examination be refunded to candidates, but if a candidate is unable, through sickness or other sufficient reason, to attend the examination, the fee paid be placed to the candidate's credit for a future examination j but such credit shall not be extended for more than two years. In the case of removal to another district the fee shall be paid to the credit of the candidate at the college of the district to which he moves, provided that he sits thore for examination within two years." A motion by Mr. M'Ginnity that the operation of the rule be withheld at the council's discretion in exceptional circumstances was negatived, after disc.ussioa.
