A SUIT OF CLOTHES FOUND.
FATALITY SURMISED.
The finding of a suit of clothes on the beach at Happy Valley yesterday evening has given rise to some speculation, and it is feared that the owner of the clothes may have been drowned whilst bathing. When the finding of the clothes was reported to the police, Constable Redican, of Island Bay, was dispatched to Happy Valley. The constable found a complete suit, consisting of a brown tweed coat and vest, light-coloured tweed trousers, soft shirt, ' white collar, and blue: tie, black hard hat, and black elastic-side slippers. A. leather hand-bag, containing papers in connection with the : Shearers' union, was al6o found; , These papers would indicate that the owner of the bag was named "P. H. or P,"F. Darcy. A .thorough search of the • rocks and the shore failed to bring any trace of a body.
