The object of Lord Kitchener's visit to Maraekakaho yesterday, was to see the the Field-Marshal being very, much interested in the question of suitable remounts for the Imperial Army. Shortly after his arrival in, Napier on Saturday. evening tho Mayor (Mr. J.Vigor Drown, M.P.) made an informal call, and spent about a quarter of an hour with him. Lord Kitchener expressed himself as pleased with .his. visit to New Zealand, and stated that he was particularly interested in the Hot Lakes district, through' which he had just travelled. He, leaves to-morrow morning for Wellington, via Palmer^ton'Tvorth, probably about 9 o'clock, but his movements depend on the weather, which is now boisterous and wet. The Field-Marshal will leave Wellington for Sydney on Wednesday, catching tho Vancouver boat at the latter port.
