ST. JAMES CLUB. ANNTT3.L BEPOET. The ninth annual report of the St James Club • states that the successe; attained by the teams playing under it jurisdiction last feasoh were very en couraging, especially in view of tin fact that the club lost a number o prominent players through unaroidsibli circumstances. However, members won to l)e congratulated on the sptendk showing niadp, due in no small measun to the untiring efforts of the coach, Mr H. Roberts, senr. The senior team \va: again amongst the leaders in the com petition, tying with Oriental' for foiiril place, and only suffering defeat by thi narrowest margin of points by the chain pionship winners and the Pctone tenia which finished second. The team, player 15 matches, won 8, lost 5, and .2 wen drawn, securing 158 points for and Si against. The junior team was handi sapped through having to supply fch< senior team with players during thi greater part of the season, but neverthe less managed to fulfil most of its en jagements. . The third-class team was ti be congratulated on the splendid show ing made, and. great things were ttected of the "thirds" this season. The annual meeting of the TJU.C.A. Joys' FootbaU Club was held on Saturday vening, nearly 50 boys being present, dr.' M. Matbeson was in the chair. The secretary (Mr. W. J. Mears) stated n the annual report that'the past- season iad been the most successful.in the club's ecords, some 90 players haying -joined luring the year. The teams, were run-lers-up in' the fourth , class and the fifth lass A and B championships, while in he fourth class, grade the IB team was ourth on 'the list In the fourth grade Charity Cup competition the Y.M.C.A. rere also runners-up.•■■ Five fifth-class toys .were chosen in the -'Wellington boys' epresentative team, viz., Home, Aicken, talker, Bates, and Nicol.
