The terrible threat that the Liberals, if. fm'nishod with a . working majority ia. the House of Commons, would refuse to take office unless' they had .some assurance that the House of Lords would not stand in the way of any legislation thev might propose . . . seems fantastic when it is looked at.. It is like the- outcry about "financial' chaos," 1 meant to impress foolish or ignorant .people with the fear of awful consfcquerices that are to follow if , they do not vote as Liberal contemners of office '■ desire.
