The trial of Kanare and six, other Brahmins, charged in connection with the murder of the Collector' at Nasik, Mr. Jackson, was continued before the High' Court at Bombay. Mr. Jackson was in a native theatre by Kanare, who is a youth, and who is believed t6 have been under the influence of some of the other accused. Kanare, giving evidence, said he thought the killing of sahibs would give the peoplo justice. He nov. 1 regretted the killing of Mr. Jackson, a good man, without cause.
