It is'interesting to note that since St Katherine won the Wanganui Cup in 1893, a three-year-old filly had not won the race until Milan triumphed on Thursday last, Milan is also the first to win the double, Egmoni -Cud and Wanganui Cup, since Nobility annexed those events in 1901. Waiwhera,. the dam of Milan',was one of lmlf a dozen brood'mares that Mr. laai Duncan sold some time back to a South Australian breeder.
