'Father Venning and ■ Kev. Brotlier An npology» for. unavoidable absence was received from the Very Hev.,Dean Reguault. On tho ■motion of the chairman, a rosolutlon was carried expressing tho deep sense of. the members of the cluh fit the loss sustained by the olergy nnd laity of the diocese of Auckland and the Homan Catholic Church generally by ..the deaths of ..Bishop ,Lenihan. The half-yearly report- and balancesheet (a summary iof .which has already appeared in The Dominion) were,- after some discussion, adopted unanimously. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, his Grace . Archbishop Bedwood; president, Very Rev. Fathor O'Shea; vice-presidents, Very Rev. Dean R«gnault, Rev. Father Venning; \ hon. « secretary, Mr.'-.' J. M'Gowani: hon.. treasurer, Mr. J.i \V. Cnllaghan; executive, Messrs. :Ef W. Dunne, O. O'Hare, W. fright, J. Webb, G. V. Venning, W. Tiller,' A. Jackson,' M. Finnegan, and P. J. M'Namara; hon. auditors, Messrs." S. J. Moran and. J. F. O'Loary.i It.was decided,'6n the motion of Mr. J. W. Callaghau, tha,t with the view to the early) erection of the, proposed now Catholic hall and club, rooms, ,u. fresh canvas for funds , ,be instituted and prosecuted .Vigorously'• by club members. It was also decided to establish intho club a Conference of St. Vincent de Paul Society.-, The general tenor of the speeches throughout the , ovenlng was directed to the necessity for renewed interest, and ohthusiasm m the club' 6 welfare on the part of the general body of members. The selection of ■ delegates , to reprcsont the club at tho forthcoming conference of tho federated Catholic clubs and the consideration of the order : paper for tho conference-" .were left in' the hands of the incoming exeontive. ■ A voto of thanks to the retiring officers closed a ! successful mooting. . .
