W. Jones stated that;.he;objeoted to delegating his responsibilities :• to . any sub-committee in the way proposed. He had had previous experience . of suoh-procedure. At one time the board; set up a sub-committee to 'go into; its finances, ■ but . that. committee had .never reported, though. he had asked for. a report.. iThen one-of the', members went Home, 1 and while he. was . there the board - a mysterious communication' from a London bank—but . (as a ' member was about , to interrupt him)—he was not- going to discuss that matter. It was all covered in the notice'of motion which' had been given .by Mr. Harkness, 'which called for all' documents,- cables, etc., having'reference to the half-million raised in> London last, year. , .;'■■
