_The' forhiightly meeting' of "the'Karori -Borough Council was held' last' evening, there - being'presentThe.Mayor (Mr. C. ' 1 ' vA : letter 'was received from the-Postal Department, , stating 1 that . the Department wouldfpay the council annually for .the conveyance' of letter-carriers ana telegraph messengers over the .borough's tramway line. In reply to an - application :from 'thei Karon *• School Committee the council agreed to convey the school children free over the borough tramway on.'the occasion of the,6olidol .picnic, l .which -the committee desires to organise- some time this' year.' .
