Two hundred persons .were present at the unveiling of . the memorial panel of tho. late Mr. R. J. Seddon,. Primo^Minister of New Zealand, in the Crypt of St. Paul s Cathedral. The panel is the work of Mr. G. J. Frampton, A.E.S. 'It is placed in tho Crypt of the Cathedral; adjoining tho bust of tho lato Sir George Grey. ' Those present: included Mrs. Morice (Mr. Seddon's daughter), the' Mayor, of: St. Helens, Mr, T. Glover (Labour member for .St. .Helens), ; Lord "Strathconoi High Commissioner for' Canada, .Mr; j: M'Call, Agent-General for: Tasmania,, the Countess of Kanfnrly (wife of a former Governor of the Dominion), Major Robinson, and many Now Zoalanders. Prior to, the unveiling tho Duko of Argyll,'who performed the ceiemonyj read cablegrams from Sir Joseph Ward, Prime IJinister of New' Zealand, and from Mrs. Seddon, widow'of this : late, Prime Minister. His Grace then delivered all eloquent eulogy of Mr. Seddon/ He said the memorial.was erectod as a'mark of affection .for the\ man,, and of respect for the ■statesman. 1 .- Following Sir George Grey's, bravo advice, Mr. Seddon' became the 1 most 'trusted- leader in 'aU, Australasia.' He gave no uncertain voice when the call came to prove .the union of the Empire, and New Zealand responded nobly, 1 sending.ten contingents,to South Africa.
