. , : . LIST. CLOSED. ' ;Tho entries for tho Mastcrton A. and P. Show to' bo. held on February 15 closed last night,'. The entries oh.the whole aro extremely, satisfactory,and compare very favourably with-those,of last year. Although'there has bc*n a fallingolf in "the total, this is more than compensated for by. the; quality of .tho exhibits, while in' some of the, most, important 'sections' the .entries, aro well ahead-: of; last .yonr's.,- The competitions in' particular have attracted largo, entries. In the maiden jump there aro no. fewer than 20 entries,' in the hunters' leaping 25, in the ladies' hunters 20, and in the champion jump 40.' The entries in tho horse sections are right through ahead of last year, as are- those for
fat cattle. ■ There will be on exhibition at least 150 fat bullocks which should bo one of the finest exhibitions ever seen in the Dominion. The sheep sections are well filled, but there is. a slight fallingoft" in the freezing classes, "duo to the unfavourable season. ,-, The total entries, are as follow:— Horses, 335; horse competitions, 175; .cattle,' 256; pigs, GO2; dogs, 58; pigs, 52; produce, 183; horticultural, 97; total .1758. ■■ •.'-.; : •■.'■; .....-; ' Paiata, the well-known flax and dairy •property of 347' acres freehold and IGO acres leasehold, somo of tho richest land ;on the Manawatu, with flax cutable this year, will be sold: at auction by.Dalgety and Co., at Palmerston North on Saturday, 26th February.
