An Auckland Wedding/ A quiet wedding was celebrated at St, laicfe Church, Mount Albert, Auckland, «q Wednesday afternoon, the officiating clergyman being the vicar, the Eev. T. i. fairy. The contracting parties were Miss Edith Batkin,' eldest daughter of Mr. H. W. Batkin, of Mount Albert, and Mr. B. .Bollard, son of Mr John Bollard, M.P. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss M. Batkin aud Miss N Pouglas, and the groomsmen were Mr. P. Batkin and Mr. J. Patterson. After the ceremony the guests drove to the residence of the bride's parents, where refreshments were served in a marquee erected on the lawn, and the usual toasts honoured. Among those present were the Mayor and Mayoress of Auckland. The bnde and bridegroom left for Wellington on Wednesday evening en route to Australia, v A Water Pttute. A delightful water rricnio was given yesterday afternoon by Mrs. W. A. Kennedy is a farewell for Mrs. Malcolm Boss and His 3 Fulton. The afternoon was a beautiful one, and the view of the harbour and the Hutt Valley altogether charming. The party were taken m the Natone to Somes Island, where they visited those interesting immigrants, the baby moose, who have just arrived, aud who , are forming the opinion that New Zealand is just a bare, rocky, very little island in the middle of a lake. Those visitors who had expected to find the horned beasts of American magazine ll- - lustrations wore interested in the youthful creatures, which 'look like donkevs' more than anything else, and have long I ears and very thick iron-grey fui' They are very tame, and quite willing to make friends. Some King Charles spaniels and other dogs also are on the island trying not to feel dull. Afternoon tea Was served on the boat, and from ,Somes Island the party returned to town.
