Saints' vicarage, but again wet weather interfered with the function. However, stalls weve quickly improvised in. All Saints' Sunday ,Schoolroom; and. good' business was done, though the attendance was naturally- much. interfered ; -.with.by the rain, which fell' almost ■ continuously. The fete was in aid 'of the new All Saints' , Church building fund. ",/.■'.-,... . At a; largely-attended meeting of the Palmefston. North Holiday Association, to-day the resolution (passed two or three days ago) not to close business promises earlier on Wednesday. next for the Feilding Show, was rescinded, and it was resolved 'to".close at noon on that day'.' Two of those present at the pre- ; , vious meeting, which was only .thinly-I attended,-Have resigned, from- the association...; •'.. :.' .. r. . ~'' . ,'. V ..- .. .At the Police Court to-day a man named William Edward Smith was sentenced to a month's hard' labour;in Wellington Gaol for failing to contribute towards the support of his wife. .
