IBom .Jlorocka, Makuri, ind .Weber. -Ihe ranges vere 200, 500, and'6oo, yards', seven shots, with an optional sighter at cadi, range. rhe weather - was all that coul(T a' strong light. ,lhe Weber _men were,in splendid form, and established a;lea<l of .10 points at 200 : ; yard9,v Pongaroa :-B/'.team ; befog second. Pongaroa'A was 'third, ;two.-.points behind,-.! Makiiri on© -point aheadof. Horoeka; At '500 yaT<ls .' Wefe-in-creased their lead to 18 points, A teing eewnd.B third, Hoioeka fotirfch, and Maicuri: fifth. At 600 yards Pongaroaagain, demonstrated , their strength at the distance by scoring- oight mora 'points' thtui W ebar, thus reducing Weber's lead to ten points, by. which margin they 1 become.'the first'. holders , of tho shield. Ponmrpa ■B. team finished: third,- Horoeka and Jlaknri being fourth and fifth respectively. Rifleman G. Lovejoy, of Weber, was top-scorer with 95; and J.; Franklin, of tho same, team, .scored; a possible at 500., yards. Apart from the-""Weber, team,- : there were only two scores of over 90— H.
