BOWLS.
THE DUNEDIN TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) - - - Dunedin, January 20. Seven full-rink greens were' occupied to-day with the singles bowling ohampionship. The scheme adopted was one new to the New Zealand Bowling Association tournament. In past years one loss put a player out, bat, this year, the conditions were altered, and competitors had two lives up to the third round. On the fourth round, however, the "suddendeath" principle came info , force, and, at this stage also, the two sections merg-ed,.and-the play became general. Splendid weather prevailed; and no difficulty was. experienced in, carrying the singles through'to r tho green winners. A forward move was also made in the doubles tourney, and - a number, of sectional ties were played off. .In several instances the green. winners ' were ascertained, but a few have still to be determined. The following .'are the green winners in the singles' . Caledonian Green: Stevenson (Taieri). Roslyn Green: Miller (Southland). Balmapewan Green: Wallace (Taieri). Dunedin Green: Christie (Taieri).. / N.-E. 'Valley Green: Johnston (St. Albans). Kaitima Green: E.
