"When the Teservoir was'built, there'would be';as good a w.ater,; pressure in'the suburb as :was obtainablem:Wellington. .-• At '.present, .'there was a good pressure'in Eoseneath at certain times of the day, and'when; a : fire occurred, the . water could ;be concentrated on the. Oriental. Bay,- mains. l -' The. ordinary pressure ought to be. sufficient tosuppross. hill .fires in .their earlier stages. The brigade would require; a membership of, 21, including b foreman.'The foreman would require, to bo an experienced fire-fighter, he would be in ohargeof-the plant,;and he'wonld'receive; a .salary: of :.£lo,' per annum.
