CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Chrlstchurch, January 13. Tho third, wool salo .of -this season's series was held, to-day, when 22,790 bales, wore catalogued. There \?as a good attendance • of buyers, though not so large as at the two previous sales, all sections of the trade boing weU represented. A good selection of wool was offered,, in-cluding-a number of large station' clips. Being shorn late, the-wool was naturally heavy in .grease, but was generally clean, and 1 , there were no complaints'about wet .wool, as was, the case at.the previous sale. Good, competition for all descriptions of wool was the order of the day, but tho Bradford and Continental buyers were the strongest opierators,'though a fair amount, of -business was done on American count. , The Wellington Woollen Mills were principally after merinos, and; the local • fellmongers met / with strong competition for scouring ;lots. Best halfbred wools, though somewhat irregular. ■ sold (considering their condition), fully up to ; the level of the December sale. : Medium I halfbreds and all grades of crossbrcds i were firmer in many .cases by fully id. por - lb., and merino wool sold better than at the previous sales. .. .
