A THREATENING LETTER. .. , \ Christcliurch, Jannkry S. At the Chnstchurch Police Court E& . ward James Shoard, a young man pleaded guilty to a charge of having sent a threatening letter to Mrs Alfred Bennett demanding 50s. with intent to steal the same Tho evidence showed that in the letter accused threatened to make revelations that would lead to divorce proceedings He was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court.
. ,AFTER HOURS. Lyttelton, January; 5. John Wooebling and Nicholas Woods were this morning fined 40s and costs for being found on licensed premises (the British Hotel) after 10 p m.
