SUDDEN DEATH AT NEW BRIGHTON. (Bγ Telegraph —Press AssociationJ Christchurch, January 5. Deceased, who occupied a cottago vth two friends, was taken very ill just before 1 30 am, his companions being awakened by Ins groans. Thoy sent at once for .i doctor, but befoie he ■ was in attendance the young man had succumbed. Deceased vasi a son of Mr. S. Eonaldson, inspector of the Publio Tru!>t Oucc, who is at present in Auck> laiid. lie was only transferred to tho Chnstchnrch office two months ago from Wellington, where his homo ia situated. ITe wab a former pupil of Wellington College, and was a well-known cricketor, hockey-player, and gymnast. A sad fcaturo of tho oconrronce was that deccisod returned only yesterday & holiday trip to his home. At the inquiry a veidwt of heart failure was returned.
