Martin watched proceedings on behalf of tho municipal ' authorities, Mr. Stuart Richardson re. presented the City Tramways Department, and Mr. W. Jones, secretary of tha i Tramway Workers', Union, was also pre* sent. William Alfred James, commission agent, stated that ho was in Manors . Street at tho time of tho accident He , saw tho jar coming along at tho usual speed, and tho gong ™ Goonding. He noticed deceased on tho tramline before , tho car approached, but ho did not see liim knocked down. Tho car pulled up in a length or two. ■ Lncoy Wallace, horse trainer, of Miramar, who also saw tho accident, stated that deceased appeared to have had a few drinks.
