A deputation from tho Bulgarian Governmont, and tho Sobranjo (or National Asscm. bly) will lay a wreath on Mr. Gladstone's tomb in Westminster Abbey on December 29, the centenary of tho statesman's birth. Memorial services will bo hold in all, the Bulgarian churches on December 23. [In September, 187 C, Mr, Gladstone published jus pamphlet. "Bnlgarian Horrors and tho Question of the East" dealing with tho Turk ish atrocities in Bulgaria in IB7G. Ho advocated the complete withdrawal of tho Turk from Bulgaria—"their Zaptiohs and tho Mudire, their Bimbashie and their Yuzbashis, their Ivaunakams and their Pashas, ono and all, bag and baggage, shall, I hope, clear out from tho province they have desolated and profaned." By the Treaty of Berlin, 1878, BnlEaria was constituted an autonomous and tributary Principality under tho suzerainty of Turkey. On October 5 of last yoar tho Pnnripolity proclaimed its independence.!.
